Yes, It’s all……About me
I was born William Robert Storie in Stirling, Scotland in 1949.
I was the only child of Robert Simpson Storie and Margaret Storie.
We lived in Dunipace – part of Denny, Stirlingshire.
I went to Dunipace Primary School and in my final year I was Dux of the School,
and the Robert Burns Scholar of the Year.
The Dux of the school is the top-performing student in a given academic year.
Academic Excellence: They typically demonstrate exceptional academic achievement across a range of subjects.
Recognition: This title is a significant honour and often comes with special recognition at school events.
I then attended Denny High School until age 18 when I was accepted into Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh.
In 1970 I graduated B.A. Commerce
(Accounting, Taxation, Moral & Social Philosophy, Mercantile Law, Constitutional Law, Industrial Psychology, and French).
I then joined Thomson McLintock, Chartered Accountants, Glasgow (now KPMG McLintock)
where I qualified as a C.A. of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland in 1974.
I married Sheena Gillespie (also of Denny High School) in 1972.
William R. Storie B.A., C.A.
In 1975, we emigrated to Bermuda where I was employed by Moore, Stephens & Butterfield
(part of Moore Stephens, Chartered Accountants, London).
I was then employed by Alexander International Ltd (now part of AON).
We have two daughters – Alexandra and Lauren both born in Bermuda – 1978 and 1980 respectively.
